Audrie Mergelman

Audrie is the fourth generation daughter of an original Colorado pioneer family and proud of her heritage. Her strong affinity for the landscapes and subjects of Colorado compels her to create paintings that preserve our Western culture. Her recent work is based on the social nature of horses and specific body language of horses. Her latest work seen below is a new direction as she explores surface patterns and colors meant to reveal the horses in the color fields. An avid horse lover who grew up riding, Audrie uses her perception of horse anatomy and gesture to emphasize specific aspects of their line and form.
